Plant Your Cause Tree

MyGoodDeed is your place to connect with others like yourself who want to make the world a better place. As a member of this new community, you’ll want to learn how to use the tools we have available to you, and you’ll want to take time to understand the general rules we’ve created to support this community. Throughout your engagement, we hope that you will always behave in a fashion that is suitable, appropriate and in the spirit of the kind of organic cause-related community we are building. You feedback is always welcome. Just email us at: CauseTree@MyGoodDeed.org.

Getting Started

Begin by signing up.

There is no cost, and all of the information you provide is completely confidential. We are a nonprofit organization and we don’t share your information or sell it to anyone. The information we request, including your birthday and gender, helps us determine what type of information you’ll need and want. Our purpose is entirely focused on helping make the world a better place and giving individuals the power to become Change Agents within their own communities and throughout the world.

Start building your own profile

step 1

Begin by adding a little information about yourself or your organization.

step 2

Type in a short mission statement, something that tells others about you and what you believe in.

step 3

Upload a picture, logo or other image that others will see when they view your profile. How to upload an image (If you’ve never uploaded an image before, you first need to have a picture or image, usually a .jpeg, on your own computer that you want to use. When you are ready to upload your image to our site, you click on Browse, and search for the picture stored on your computer. When you find it, you select “insert” and that image will then be uploaded onto our site. You follow the same procedure with video files when you’re ready to do that as well.)

step 4

Create your own blog. A blog is your own personal newsletter of sorts, except that it is interactive, which means that after you post a blog entry, others are able to add to it, or comment, and that creates a string, or “thread” of discussion from people who may have been invited to become your friends. To make a blog successful you’ll want to post new blog entries on a regular basis. In other words, keep it fresh.

step 5

Post your initial good deed. We ask everyone who signs up and creates a profile on MyGoodDeed to think of at least one good deed that they will perform, whether right away or later. What’s yours?
